WoW Maps

I recently got back into World of Warcraft after several months away. I was surprised that I could still navigate some places alright, but it was absolutely not suprising that I needed to find some WoW maps to help me out. When I reinstalled WoW, I spent a whole lot of time on various add-ons sites, reading reviews, and generally trying to figure out what I wanted. Like a lot of players, one of my favorite aspects of WoW is how customizable it is. The only drawback to this is that it is way too easy to get tons of add-ons. The reason this can be a problem is that some add-ons conflict with each other and also because whenever a patch comes out, you now have a ton of updates to download.

That doesn't bother me, though. I'll glad spend the time downloading updates if it lets me play the game the way I want. And really, after using the add-ons for a while, you'll wonder how you ever played without them. Honestly, they let you customize every single aspect of the game. From wow maps, class add-ons, quest add-ons, and more, there isn't a single thing that you can't get exactly how you want it.

One add-on that I downloaded this time that I'd never seen before was called QuestHelper. It scans through your quest log and puts a huge arrow over your head that points to the direction of your nearest quest objective. This is the most brilliant thing I've ever seen. I haven't been able to spend a ton of time playing with it, but so far it seems to work pretty well. My favorite thing about it is that it doesn't just show you where the item or boss is you need to kill, but it will point you to the drop-off/turn-in location, too! This saves so much time it is unbelievable. It looks like my days of alt-tabbing to a Thottbot window are over!

However, don't think this will replace a good WoW maps add-on like Metamap or Cartographer. You'll still use the maps, especially in instances and these add-ons are your ticket to a better WoW experience. What QuestHelper is good for, however, is leveling up quickly. Like I said, no more flipping to Thottbot, just run to the nearest quest, complete it and follow the arrow to the next one.
